Warm Color Palette. If you love lots of bright and bold colors but don’t want your kitchen to appear as if a rainbow exploded inside of it, consider working with analogous colors: colors next to each other on the color wheel.
An unspoken rule of thumb in interiors is to never use blue in rooms such as kitchens or dining rooms where food is being presented. The idea is that blue tones are unnatural and make food look unappetizing. I’m not sure how true that is, but I do know that rules are meant to be broken and blue kitchens are looking cool and current for me.
Lemon yellow. No matter how sleepy the homeowners are, this bright farmhouse kitchen must perk them right up in the morning. A pitcher of sunflowers is right at home in the yummy lemon yellow room. Note the way the designers painted the trim to match the cabinets. They did this around the windows and doors as well as on a narrow piece of molding around the ceiling to continue the brightness around the room.
Pistachio green. A soothing shade of green connects this light and airy kitchen with the outdoors. It also plays beautifully off the gray veins in the backsplash marble.
