Now for this week’s dare.

Something Old, Something New – Something Borrowed, Something Blue.

We all know this old wedding adage … you may have even practiced it the day you said “I do!”

This week, we’re going to follow the same principle.

Dare Flair:

  • Something Old: You must use something grungy or dirty or OLD looking
  • Something New: You must use a product that you’ve never used before
  • Something Borrowed: This one gets a bit tricky, but I want you to “borrow” an idea from another layout. Kind of like scraplifting without lifting the entire layout (ie: doing your title in a similar way or laying out your photos similarly)
  • Something Blue: A little or a lot – there must be some BLUE on your layout!

PS: this does NOT have to be about weddings or marriage, but you get imaginary bonus points if it is! :)

Check out this inspiration from our fabulous darers before you start scrappin’!

Journaling reads: after 15 years, we’ve learned that falling in love is easy, but staying in love requires faith, patience, selflessness and, most of all, a sense of humor. you’re my very best friend, my soul mate and i love you (still)

Jodie:
something old: grungy glitter on photo and the seventies style photo action to make the photo “look old”
something new: this is my first time using anything by one little bird designs
something borrowed: i got the idea of the big word title from laura’s darer layout this week…and the simple style from liz (paislee press)
something blue: my hubby’s jeans in the photo
credits: paper (flights of fancy by paislee press) + word art (everyday ordinary by paislee press + emily powers) + border (all scratched up by one little bird) + pink paper (for the birds by one little bird) + glitter overlay on photo (destroyed by glitter by viva artistry) + font (pea chelsea script) + photo action (seventies by pioneer woman)
the thing i love about this photo is that it really stirs up some wonderful emotions in me…it makes me melt to think about what a wonderful father my husband is. i never thought i’d feel a love like this for him…it’s a different one than when you first fall in love…not more, not less, just different. kwim? anyway…this photo pretty much sums up the relationship between my husband and my daughter…and then there’s me walking behind snapping away…LOL!!

Remember to post your layouts by 10 PM EST on Thursday, April 29th!
Happy Scrappin’!
