Tell us a little about you! I am a stay at home mom to (almost) 4 year old twin boys and a wife of seven years to my best friend. This past November we decided life just wasn’t crazy enough for us with our twin boys so we rescued a cute little Boxer pup. Now, I spend my days refereeing the chaos between the two boys and the young pup and I couldn’t be any happier.
What’s your favorite quote? I don’t really have a favorite quote or actually know too many quotes except of course my hubs favorite quote to his employees “To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late and to be late is unacceptable” – Vince Lombardi. So I decided to look around and I found a quote that touched me and I believe is a great reminder for all of us when we may need a little pick me up.
“Your time is limited; don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
What’s your biggest inspiration in life? My biggest inspirations are my children. I never realized before having them how working the daily grind made me loose focus on what inspired me and brought me joy in life. As I sit and watch them enjoy life, they have taught me to slow down, take a breath and be thankful for all the beautiful gifts we have been given. My children have inspired me to be a better mom, wife and person.
What’s your favorite TV show (or movie)? Hmmm, now this is by far the hardest question. I don’t have a favorite show/movie per se but more of a favorite topic/network. I love the Food Network and all things cooking. My favorite chef on FN is Ina Garten by far, though it is a close second for Paula Deen, Guy Fieri, Alton Brown and the oh so adorable Tyler Florence.
How long have you been designing? I can’t believe I have been designing for over a year now. It’s seems like just yesterday I made the decision to try my hand at creating some of my own papers and elements. I love the challenge to create new products from inspirations I find around every corner.
What is your design style? I’ve noticed my style changes with the seasons. I love light and wispy designs in the spring, dirty and grungy in the fall and vintage during the holidays. No matter what the season, you can always find a touch of grunge in all my styles. Of course I attribute this to being the mother of two rough and tumble little boys.
What kind of inspiration do you hope to achieve with your products? If I can inspire one person to express their creativity through their favorite craft or by trying their hand at a new craft I would be so honored.
What’s your favorite product you’ve created? My favorite product right now is my Spring Morning Kit. I love the papers in this kit because the colors blended and flowed so well together. The papers are dainty yet still masculine enough to be used to scrap photos of the men in your life.
What software do you use? I have been using PSE6 and this past Christmas I upgraded to PSE8.
What’s your favorite part of digital scrapbooking? Currently my favorite part of digital scrapbooking is hybrid scrapbooking/crafting. My boys are getting older now and want to craft with mommy so hybrid is a perfect fit for us. I love that my boys like to get their craft on.
Do you scrap? If so, how long have you been scrapping for? I began digital scrapbooking in 2006 after my boys were born. Now that my boys are getting older I don’t get to scrap nearly as much as I used to. My focus has turned to hybrid scrapping/crafting so I can include my boys and encourage their creativity.
What would you say your scrap style is? My scrap style has always followed tradition paper scrapping. Cutting papers to layer, clustering elements, using metal fasteners and grouping coordinating photographs is what I enjoy the best.
