SherrieJD

Tell us a little about you! Oh, I am so boring. I do digital art all day long and if I get bored doing that I play with spray paint and art journals. The kids, Laurel (10) and Davis (8), complain that I never get off my computer and I think my husband of 13 years would agree. I know Bob would prefer I clean and cook more, but that just doesn’t seem to be my calling.

What’s your favorite TV show (or movie)? Love anything by Tim Burton, all-time fave movie is “Like Water for Chocolate” and I can’t miss The Closer or Saving Grace. And I recently watched the last season of Gray’s Anatomy on Netflix in one sitting.

If you had just ONE wish – what would you wish for? A great big HUGE studio in my back yard with a full-time person to help me keep my supplies put away and tell me when I’ve overstocked my art supplies.
How long have you been designing? 2 years.

What is your design style? I’m all over the place, but would probably call it vintage eclectic. What kind of inspiration do you hope to achieve with your products? I would love to inspire the inner artist in everyone that digi-scraps, by encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone and go a little crazy on their layouts or altered project. Realizing that, yes it is important to preserve memories, but it’s also important to feed the creative beast within us.

What’s your favorite product you’ve created? My complete and total fave to create was Kitschy Kitchen, although Junk Yard runs a close second.

What software do you use? Mostly CS4, but occasionally Art Rage (perfect for creating glitter effects and very affordable at 25.00), and Corel Painter IX.

What’s your favorite part of digital scrapbooking? Love, love, love creating over-the-top eye candy layouts. I like over-stuffed pages with realistic shadow work and try to make them look as if a photograph had been taken of a “real” page.

Do you scrap? If so, how long have you been scrapping for? I started scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my daughter in 1999. I went to a Creative Memories party and bought everything I could from them. I’ve always played with correcting problems with my photos and printing journaling and other little bits of PaintShopPro, so I was hybrid before I even knew what hybrid was. Then in 2007, I discovered digital scrapping and haven’t touched a physical scrapbook page since then.

What would you say your scrap style is? My scrapbook style is like my design style. Love to include vintage or retro bits and baubles and make it as realistic looking as possible. I’m also a white space scrapper and prefer highlighting a single photo.
